The bustling city of Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, has secured the honor of hosting the highly anticipated **Europe-Africa Forum** in   2025. This pivotal event, held every two years, fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange between the European and African continents across a wide range of sectors.

A Successful 2024 Edition Paves the Way for Abidjan

The recently concluded 2024 edition of the Europe-Africa Forum, held in Marseille, France, proved to be a resounding success. The forum, which took place from May 7th to 8th at the Palais du Pharo and Château du Beau-Pin, brought together key figures from both Europe and Africa.

Côte d'Ivoire's Active Participation

Côte d'Ivoire played a prominent role in the 2024 forum, represented by distinguished figures like Professor Mariatou Koné, the Minister of National Education and Literacy.  Professor Koné, who currently serves as president of the Conference of Ministers of National Education of States and Governments of La Francophonie (CONFEMEN), actively participated in discussions. 

Abidjan Earns the Right to Host the 2025 Edition

The impressive participation of the Ivorian delegation, along with the country's commitment to fostering Europe-Africa relations, undoubtedly contributed to a landmark decision.  Following the successful 2024 forum, experts unanimously proposed that the 2025 edition be held in Abidjan, specifically within the Cocody commune.

A Platform for Collaboration on Pressing Issues

The Europe-Africa Forum serves as a crucial platform for addressing critical issues and exploring areas of collaboration between the two continents. The 2024 edition featured a diverse range of panels, roundtable discussions, and B2B meetings.  These sessions explored crucial topics such as education, healthcare, peacebuilding, environmental sustainability, and economic development.

Professor Koné: A Voice for Education Investment

Among the esteemed speakers at the forum was Professor Mariatou Koné, whose expertise in socio-anthropology added valuable insights.  Professor Koné delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the theme "Investing in Education: Building Inclusive Leadership." Her address undoubtedly resonated with many attendees, highlighting the importance of education in shaping a more inclusive future.

Beyond the Forum: Minister Koné's Additional Engagements

Professor Koné's contributions extended beyond the forum itself.  She participated in the inauguration of the CMA-CGM group's Tangram training and innovation center of excellence.  The ceremony was graced by the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, underlining the significance of this innovative educational initiative.

Professor Koné also attended the passing of the Olympic flame, signifying the upcoming Olympic Games in France. This participation showcased Côte d'Ivoire's commitment to international collaboration across various sectors.

The selection of Abidjan as the host city for the 2025 Europe-Africa Forum signifies a momentous occasion.
