ABIDJAN, February 16, 2024 – At the inaugural regular session of the UN-Women Governing Council in New York on February 13, 2024, Minister Nassénéba Touré, Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of Women, Families, and Children, powerfully voiced the message of her African peers regarding gender equality in Africa and women's economic empowerment.
Africa's Leadership for Gender Equality
Minister Touré emphasized that mobilizing resources to advance gender equality in Africa will be a top priority in her advocacy efforts within UN-Women. "We are committed to addressing the needs and concerns of the continent for this year of vice-presidency," she declared.
